Part-Time Contemporary Worship Leader
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to start a contemporary worship service in a new campus building and help our established church continue to reach our culture. You will be given great latitude to be creative and help us bring as many people to Jesus Christ as we can! We have the latest in screens, sound and technical support gear that will be available to you.
We have a traditional music service that will happen in our sanctuary at the same time. Our pastor will rotate between locations each week and the sermon will be simulcast.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The part-time Contemporary Worship Leader is responsible for the planning and implementation of weekly contemporary music worship services. This includes music selection and the recruiting and training of volunteer singers and musicians. More importantly, this position is responsible for leading the church into the Presence of God and preparing the congregation to hear and respond to the Word of God. Initially, this person will lead Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services, but we have hopes of adding other contemporary worship services as we grow.
Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ.
Must have a definite calling by God to use contemporary music as a tool in bringing people to Jesus Christ.
Must have the ability to love, respect, and interact with people of all ages as a member of the church staff.
Must be able to play an instrument and sing solo when necessary.
Must be a team player and be willing to serve under the direct supervision of the Personnel Committee and Pastor.
Must be available Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings to lead worship.
Must have a public and private lifestyle reflecting the high standards of personal holiness as set forth in the Bible.
Must become a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church upon employment.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
Must affirm the theological beliefs of the SBC as described in the Baptist Faith and Message.
In cooperation with the pastor and traditional worship leader, pray and plan weekly worship services.
Lead weekly full dress-rehearsal session(s) with all musicians, singers, and technical volunteers.
Lead the congregational singing before the sermon and during the invitation.
Attend occasional meetings as needed.
BASIC WORK SCHEDULE:
Sunday mornings from 8:30-12 noon. Wednesday evenings from 5-7:30pm.
At least one weekly full dress-rehearsal session with singers, musicians, and tech. (day and time to be determined by you)
A weekly detailed prayer and planning meeting with the pastor and the traditional worship leader. (can be done via Zoom)
Give a monthly report at Sunday evening church conference.
Be available for other meetings as needed.
Initially, a maximum of 20 hours per week with a 6-month probationary period.
Initial salary is in line with our other part-time leaders, but we are ready to grow together!
